Shortly before birth, 15 month-old Alex Donnelly suffered hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, or HIE, where she experienced brain damage due to oxygen deprivation. She also is also visually impaired, has epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Alex’s community in Dublin, Ireland has come together for her and her parents, aiming to raise money for the intense treatments and rehabilitation she needs through a day-long charity race called “Dawn to Dusk.” Four teams competed in the race, hosted by Irish technology company Nostra ICT, which recently took place on April 28, 2017.
