Florida Grandmother Sells Crafts to Fundraise for Grandson’s Cerebral Palsy Therapies

A grandmother in Florida is selling homemade items to help offset some of her grandson’s medical expenses. Her grandson suffered a brain injury when he was born, leading to hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and cerebral palsy. Medical bills were piling up for the family, so she decided to step in to help.

Her homemade goods include bookmarks, cloth face masks, intricate painted bottles, and shell crafts, among other items that artists from around the country create for her to sell. “This is a labor of love,” she says. Through the money raised from craft sales, her grandson has been able to receive stem cell therapy along with other traditional therapies to help him thrive.
