Finley Smallwood is an active three-year old who loves dancing, like many other children her age. She also has cerebral palsy, a condition caused by brain damage that impairs her ability to walk (and dance) without the use of a walker. Finley’s parents have harnessed her love to move, starting an online video campaign with the help of the Los Angeles Fire Department called “Dare to Dance” to raise awareness of cerebral palsy. The campaign also hopes to raise money for a costly but potentially life-changing surgery for Finley, known as Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy. “All we ask is that people just dance for Finley,” says Finley’s mother Christina.
