Poppy Jones, age 11, has cerebral palsy which prevents her from sitting, standing, or supporting herself unassisted. She also has chronic lung disease. Yet, on June 26, 2016, Poppy completed her first triathlon in the United Kingdom with the help of her dad Rob—and the Cerebra Innovation Centre. Poppy used a cutting-edge wheelchair and boat—for Rob to push or pull—designed especially for her to compete in the race. “Poppy doesn’t think ‘I can’t’ but rather ‘with a little help I can’,” says Rob. Poppy finished the triathlon and is already looking forward to next year’s race, proving the motto “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
