Michelle and Richard Laver’s daughter, Kate, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as an infant. She struggled to eat, which led her parents to develop a nutrient-rich formula that their daughter could easily digest. The formula helped Kate, now 11 years old, gain weight and strength.
In 2011, the couple founded Kate Farms to develop organic and hypoallergenic formulas primarily for individuals with health concerns. The duo worked closely with dietitians to develop a line of products that that can be ingested orally or through a feeding tube. In 2018, the company plans to expand the product line to include pediatric and higher-calorie formulas.
