Lily’s Story: “Everything went well, up until labor. Unfortunately, when I should have had an emergency C-section, it wasn’t done. And my daughter paid the cost. When she was born, she wasn’t breathing—they resuscitated her for about 18 minutes. Her little body just went through a lot in that short time. It was the longest, shortest nine days of my life.

I wanted to know what happened. I pulled my medical records and started to read the notes, and I could tell something went wrong. Thankfully I was able to find [Lisa]. Even though it was a very, very emotional time, [Grant & Eisenhofer] fought for me in areas where I could not fight for myself and my daughter, in addition to being nurturing and loving and kind and caring, because there are so many mothers on the team and fathers on the team, as well, so from that aspect, they helped me emotionally as well and legally, which was most important.

I said they’re not my lawyers, they’re my warriors—they’re fighting for me in ways that I can‘t fight for myself.
