When mom-to-be Ashley was 28 weeks pregnant with daughter Faithlynn, she received a potentially dangerous diagnosis: polyhydramnios. Polyhydramnios is a condition where excess amniotic fluid accumulates around the baby during pregnancy, increasing the risk for preterm delivery and other complications. Ashley’s doctors discovered a large tumor on Faithlynn’s kidney which caused the fluid accumulation—and her early delivery. Faithlynn was born at 29 weeks, weighing only three pounds. She underwent emergency surgery to have her kidney removed at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The surgery was a success, and Faithlynn, who is now seven years old, is a healthy little girl who enjoys all of the fruits that life has to offer.
