Austin Freeman, a seventh grade wrestler at an Indianapolis middle school, won his match during the team’s last home meet of the season. This was an extra special victory for the teen, who has cerebral palsy. Austin was diagnosed with the disorder at about two years old, and was diagnosed with cancer one year later. His chemotherapy led to chronic kidney disease and other complications, but he did not let his physical limitations get in his way. At the meet, Austin’s teammates, coach, and mother were thrilled to see him reach his goals and inspire others to do the same.
