New Lawsuit Blames Child’s Heart Murmur on GlaxoSmithKline’s Zofran (ondansetron)

New Lawsuit Blames Child’s Heart Murmur on GlaxoSmithKline’s Zofran (ondansetron)

A new complaint filed by a Texas mother alleges that GlaxoSmithKline, manufacturer of the anti-nausea drug Zofran (ondansetron), did not properly warn of the drug’s dangerous side effects when used by pregnant women to treat morning sickness during the first trimester of pregnancy, resulting in her son’s heart murmur and other congenital heart and brain defects. The family has no history of congenital birth defects, the suit goes on to say, and the mother did not take Zofran (ondansetron) during her first pregnancy where she gave birth to a healthy baby.
