In Nike’s most innovative shoe to date, the Go FlyEase is designed to be a hands-free, lace-free slip on sneaker. The shoe is the next generation of Nike sneaker designed to help athletes with disabilities. Its slip-on style, stabilized with a “kickstand heel” and underfoot “diving board” enables wearers to put on the shoe without the use of their hands.
In 2012, Nike received a letter from a 16-year old fan of the brand with cerebral palsy. He told the company about his dream of going to college without needing help from someone to tie his shoes. His story led to the launch of several sneaker styles without laces, inspiring confidence and convenience to people with a variety of temporary or permanent disabilities.
