Microsoft’s Xbox Adaptive Controller was named one of TIME magazine’s fifty Best Inventions of 2018—and for people with conditions such as cerebral palsy, the invention empowers users of all abilities. The controller’s design, which features large, 4-inch buttons that can easily be pressed by an elbow or chin, was created in conjunction with the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. The controller also includes ports to accommodate foot pedals, and customization features to fit each gamer’s needs. This holiday season, Microsoft reminds us “when everybody plays, we all win.”
