Share Your Blessings, an Albuquerque-based non-profit dedicated to providing resources and programming to children with disabilities, recently donated over $300,000 in Beamz interactive music systems to patients with cerebral palsy through its Project Maestro. Beamz is a recreational therapy product that allows users to create music by touching or looking at light beams, triggering different notes, sounds, and instruments—a task that may be challenging to individuals with motor function problems caused by CP. Share Your Blessings uses music as a tool to support positive cognitive, sensory, and emotional experiences, and increase brain fitness, memory recall, and communication amongst people with special needs. The music systems will be gifted to approved applicants primarily located in Arizona, New Mexico, and southern California.
