Five-year old Tyler-James Claydon was born with meconium aspiration syndrome, or MAS, a condition that prevents an infant from getting oxygen immediately after birth. MAS caused Tyler to suffer a brain injury called hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy due to the oxygen deprivation, and he also suffers seizures. Tyler’s parents have started a fundraising effort to provide him with private speech therapy to help him confront everyday challenges. “He is a really good, lovely little boy, he just needs to learn a different way,” said Tyler’s mother Kerry, also noting that “…therapy will improve his understanding and communication.”
