Rugby Cleats Raise $29,000 for Cerebral Palsy

A pair of rugby boots worn by Irish rugby star Johnny Sexton during a high-stakes match raised €25,500 ($29,000) at auction, with proceeds benefitting an eight-year-old Irish girl with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. The 2018 World Player of the Year wore the shoes when he kicked the goal that allowed Ireland to defeat France. Sexton’s donation sold for approximately $17,600, and the bidder then donated an additional €11,400.
